Thank you Liz and Doug for allowing me to tell your story . . . .not that you had much choice in the matter once I'd thought of it (haha). So today the public has the chance to finally read a book that I've been working on for years. Since 1996 to be exact. Last year I dusted off the manuscript, finally finished it and presented it to Cynthia Thomas from Lyrical Press who loved the story and now here we are! I'd really like to thank everyone who has supported me through this long process, but most especially my husband. He was the champion who encouraged me to pursue my dream and made me feel like it could actually be possible. So to all of your aspiring pre-published authors out there who might be feeling a bit discouraged by all the rejection letters you're getting, (trust me, I've had my share of those!) I'm here to tell you to keep going. If you believe in your story someone else will too. I'll leave you with the quote posted above my desk: "If you really want it you'll find a way, if you don't, you'll find an excuse."Cheers!
